Light, lives and contemporary working class textures are explored and celebrated by the writer/director Payal Kapadia, who won the Grand Prix at the Cannes Film Festival this year for his debut in revealing fiction. Focusing two roommates who also work together in a city hospital, the head nurse Prabha (Kani Kusruti) and the recent Anu rental (Divya Prabha), in addition to her co -worker, Cook Parvaty (Chhaya Kadam), Kapadia’s Film Alights in moments of connection and pain, hope and disappointment. Prabha, her husband of an arranged marriage that lives in distant Germany, is courted by a doctor in her hospital; Anu continues with a romance with a Muslim man, who must maintain a secret of his strict Hindu family; Parvaty is dealing with a sudden eviction of your department. Kapadia captures the bustle of the metropolis and the outdoors of a coastal people with equal radiation, articulated by its excellent actresses and by the Chamber with a lyrical naturalism that occasionally moves in a dream incandescence.
